Editing Practical Task


 Plan:

This film sequence involves an employee and manager, where the employee is frustrated at the manager for being underpaid despite working excessive hours and overtime. This all takes place in the managers "Office". 

Sequence of Events: 

Manager working at computer
Employee bursting through the doors to the building 
Back to manager working at computer
Employee walking up the stairs
Manager getting a phone call from a business man
Employee getting closer and closer to manager's office 
Manager confirming a business deal on his phone
Employee bursting into managers office 
Employee and manager having a conversation which turns into the employee shouting at the manager. 

Actors:

Frankly and Bradley 

Sound:
Non-diegetic sound:
- Tense music playing in the first part of the sequence to represent the tension and anger of the employee. 


Diegetic sound: 
- Dialogue between Frankly & Bradley
-Phone ringing
-Doors slamming/opening
-Keyboard typing
-Frankly's footsteps

Camera Shots:

-Close up 

Editing:

-Fade out

Script:

In manager office: Manager typing on keyboard at his computer
Front door of the building: Employee opening the front door
Wide shot of building stairs: Employee walking up stairs 
In manager office: *Phone ringing* Manager pick up phone call
In manager office: 

Manager:"Yes, the deal has been finialised"

Manager: "Yes i agree this partnership will ensure a very very productive business"

Outside managers office: Employee rushes towards door and pushes it open aggressively
In managers office: 

Manager: "I'm going to have to call you back."

Manager: "So what appears to be the problem Frankly" 

Employee: "Well, for starters the wage we agreed on wasn't accurate i was supposed to get £950 by the end of the month, guess how much i got... £450 you gave me 500 less." 

Manager: "Well it sounds like a skill issue, your wage is determined by how many hours you work and clearly you don't work enough that's why your underpaid"

Employee:*Stands up ,slamming his hand onto the desk* "I'm working eight fucking hours plus overtime, and you say there is a reason for me being underpaid, fuck off and fuck this shitty job."

Manager: *slams hand down on his desk* "How dare you shout at me, if you don't like the job your working in then quit no one is going to stop you, no one is going to care."

Employee: *Slaps manager in the face*
