Sound video feedback and learner response

 1) Type up your feedback from your teacher.

WWW:
Good description on blog.
Well chosen parallel images/sound.
Good transitions.
Well paced timing of images.
Large number of images.

EBI:
Low res/pix-elated images.
Smoother ending- fade & start.
Avoid Watermarks.

 2) Type up your feedback from fellow students - you can summarise key points if several students give you similar feedback.

WWW:
Sound flows well with images.
Image stayed for good period of time.
Sound was parallel and contrapuntal.
Well paced.

EBI:
Fade it out in end to give it a better effect.
Crop some of the images to avoid watermarks.
Low quality/res.

3) Now reflect on your work and write your own evaluation of your video. Write a 'What went well' (WWW) paragraph and a paragraph for 'Even Better If' (EBI) underneath the rest of your feedback.

WWW:
I believe my images did meet the brief of contrapuntal and parallel sound as well included good smooth transitions. I made sure to have the images change to the beat of the music in order to maintain good pace. I made sure to use a large number of images in order to get the perfect amount of time for the parallel and contrapuntal images (30 seconds each in order to reach a 1 minute clip.)

EBI:
I should've worked more on the ending in order to give it a smooth fade out instead of ending it abruptly, i also should've made sure to pick out images that didn't have any major watermarks or cropped them out of the photo and picked out images that weren't low quality.

4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video?

I'd say Sopiga's video was the best one as it was very smooth, on beat with the sound, very good transitions, good quality images, whereas my video certain images were blurry and had watermarks which i could've avoided in my video.

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?

From this week's work I've learned that sound can change the way we see certain aspects of media, linking to De'Saussure's belief of all media is polysemic and we can interpret it in different ways. For example classical music during a violent scene may be very contrapuntal however we can interpret it as parallel as it could represent the character's psychopathic mind.
